Rebuildable Cars

Rebuildable automotobiles are cars that have been damaged in one way or another, but are capable of being repaired for road use again. Often the damage is quite minor, or they are damaged due to flooding, theft or other types of damage. All damage that we are aware of is completely disclosed.

We sell low- to mid- end rebuildable cars and often we have the parts to fix them at significantly discounted prices. If you are a little handy, you can often get into a very good used car at a very low price, with decent resale value.

When you buy a rebuildable car, you should be looking for the following basic things:
  1. Title - In Maine, you will probably be given a salvage title on a rebuildable car. You will need to repair the car, keeping all receipts for parts you buy as well as VIN numbers of used parts you buy to repair it. For rebuildable cars over 15 years old in Maine, you may be given a bill of sale instead, and just need to repair it, but won't need to get a new title.
  2. Check it out - Look the car over completely. Check the frame, try to start it to see if you are going to need to do engine repairs. Make sure you completely understand what the damage is and that you are prepared to fix it. Once it's off the lot, you will be entirely responsible for all repairs, so be sure it's something you really want to - and know how to - fix. How much will you have to put into it to make it safe and inspectable and are you willing to invest it?
  3. No Warranty - Rebuildable cars do not come with a warranty, with rare exceptions. You are, in essence, buying a vehicle that is considered a parts vehicle, and preparing to rebuild it to a vehicle that is again safe for the road. It is entirely your responsibility to see that the vehicle is safe for the road once you have repaired it.
  4. Transport - How will you get it from their lot to your yard to work on it? Always ask. Most require that you get it moved; however, we will tow it for you for a small fee (locally).
